About us

After many years of visiting Spain—especially Seville—the circumstances finally aligned in the summer of 2023, making it the perfect time for us to leave the Netherlands. Django and I moved to Seville! This is truly our city; this is where we feel at home. In the winter of 2023-2024, we by coincidence spotted this house in Polopos with fantastic views and great potential. So, we decided to buy the house and leave our beloved Seville, which we still visit twich a month. The lower part of our house is a private apartment that we renovated and decorated to our own taste. We live in the apartment above, and the rooftop terrace above that is shared. However, I often let my guests enjoy it in peace.

The origin of the name ‘Casa Vino, Asado y Amigos’ is a special one. I not only have a love for Spain, but also for South America—especially Argentina. Because of its passionate football culture and the delicious meat. On an authentic market in that country, just two months before I found this house in Polopos, I came across a handmade wooden sign that read ‘Vino, Asado y Amigos’ (Wine, Barbecue and Friends). Made by a real Argentinian gaucho. I instinctively knew: This sign is gonna be mine! These three words perfectly represent what I value and what I believe define good times and happiness together.

So basically I already knew the name of my future holiday apartment when I came across this house a few months later. I’ve tried to give the interior a rustic feel, and the decoration reflects my personal taste. As a host, I hope to convey this feeling to my guests as well. Because above all, the most important thing is that they have a great time together. After all, the best memories are made together!
