The Region
Polopos is located in the Alpujarras a region of Granada and in the Costa Tropical region. It's the perfect holiday location because within 1,5 hours you can visit everything you want. There's a great variety in nature. From walking in the mountains, skiing in the Sierra Nevada, to sandy beaches in Almería and a city trip to Granada or Málaga. Make sure you book enough nights to visit everyhting!
Las Alpujarras
The Alpujarra region is a stunning and culturally rich mountainous area nestled on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada in the provinces of Granada and Almería. It’s known for its dramatic landscapes, whitewashed villages, and deep historical roots of the Moors in Spain. We recommend you to visit the towns of Trevélez, Pampaneira, Capileira en Bubión.

Very close to Polopos you have a lot of ecological wine growers, with great quality wines! It's also known for it's almonds, avocado's, oranges, honey and many more.


Beach
A 10 kilometre drive down the hills and you're at the Beach! Castell de Ferro is a nice place to enjoy and relax. Are you looking for more sandy beaches? Then head to Almería. It's the home to some of the most unspoiled sandy beaches in Spain. With golden shores, crystal-clear waters, and a backdrop of dramatic cliffs and desert landscapes, the beaches here offer a perfect escape. From the tranquil coves of Cabo de Gata to the wide, open stretches near Roquetas de Mar, Almería’s coastline is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Mediterranean.
Cities
Looking for a daytrip to a city? Visit the famous Alhambra in Granada, enjoy the Pablo Picasso museum in Málaga or go for tapas in Almería.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada is a very populair place for skiing in the winter months. A drive of 1 hour and 45 minutes from Polopos and you can enjoy yourself. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, the Sierra Nevada offers a great variety of runs and stunning mountain views. It's the perfect way to add some winter adventure to your stay in Andalusia!
"Wild West"
The Tabernas Desert is Europe's only true desert. Known for its dramatic landscapes and cinematic history, it has served as the backdrop for many famous Western films. It's a unique place to explore rugged terrain, visit old movie sets like Fort Bravo, and enjoy a completely different side of Andalusia.

Río Verde
The Río Verde region is a lush, mountainous area located only 70 km from Polopos. It's known for its crystal-clear river, canyons, and adventurous outdoor activities like canyoning and hiking, it offers a striking contrast to the nearby beaches.
The Río Verde gorge, with its waterfalls and natural pools, is especially popular among nature lovers and thrill-seekers. The area is also close to traditional white villages and part of the Sierra de Almijara natural park, making it a scenic and diverse destination.
White villages
Andalusia is well know for it's stunning white villages. The most famous village is Frigiliana. A one hour ride from Polopos. If you take a look, we reommend that you also visit Nerja and it's amazing cave.
