Casa Vino Asado y Amigos
Polopos
Welcome to Polopos! In this typical Spanish mountain village, you can still wake up in peace and enjoy the singing birds, the fantastic views of the mountains and the sea, and the opportunity to take beautiful walks. It's known for its peaceful atmosphere and relatively isolated setting, making it a haven for those seeking an escape from busy urban life.
A shift into reverse and back in time, that's what you'll experience in this lovely village. You’ll see people still working their land by hand and with donkeys, and enjoying a quiet coffee in the morning. A baker comes by every day, and a fruit and fish vendor visit weekly.

An impression of the village and some useful information below!

Information about the village
Some important information to know up front:

-
Polopos is located at an altitude of 800 meters. The last 10 kilometers to the village is a mountain drive on a well-paved road. Two cars can easily pass each other, and the road is in good condition. However, it is a winding mountain road.
-
Thanks to its altitude and proximity to the sea, Polopos enjoys a mild climate that supports vineyards, almond trees, and other Mediterranean crops.
-
The village itself is built on a mountain and is therefore steep, including the final meters to my apartment.
-
You can enjoy wonderful mountain hikes around the village. Drive down the mountain and you’ll be right at the beach!
-
At the entrance of the village, there is a local bar owned by retirees. However, it is open to everyone. They serve coffee, drinks, and tapas. It’s very charming to see the village retirees gathering there in the late afternoon/early evening to socialize and play board games.
-
Polopos has a bar/restaurant (Bar Restaurante Julia) that is open five days a week. It’s open from 11 AM until 12 AM and serves breakfast, lunch, drinks, and dinner. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Don't forget to mention to the bartender that you’re staying with Xander at 'Casa Vino, Asado y Amigos', and you’ll receive one free drink per person!
-
There are no shops in Polopos! So it’s highly recommended that you arrive with some groceries, especially on Mondays since the restaurant is closed that day.
-
The baker comes up every day (except Sunday) with fresh bread. This is around 9:30 a.m.
-
The fruit and vegetable vendor comes every Saturday, around 10:30–11:00 a.m.
-
The fishmonger comes every Tuesday and Friday with fresh fish. He always sends a video of the catch of the day in the village Whatsapp group chat. I'm happy to forward it to you. He arrives around 9:30 a.m.
